FLORIDA BOAR HOG - A large Florida Boar hog will generally weigh between 150 - 200 pounds. A Florida Boar has two large tusk in the lower jaw ranging from 1/2 inch to up to 6 inches. A Florida boar hog with over 1 and 1/2 inches of teeth are considered a Trophy Boar. The Florida Boar also has very tough shields at the shoulder area. This protects them when fighting other Boar hogs. For this reason a 243+ Caliber gun is suggested to offer the hunter the best opportunity at harvesting this animal.

Methods of Harvesting a Florida Boar Hog - Stands, Stalking or the most exciting is (Florida Boar Hog & Florida Cur Dog Hunt). This is a very high adrenaline hunt. The dogs actually go out and find the hogs, bays the hog, and will actually hold the hog until the hunter arrives. Making for an exciting and successful harvest.
